Hawaii Day 6: Swap Meet & Pearl Harbor

Today we went to the swap meet at the Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. This swap meet is HUGE and the best place to find touristy Hawaii themed things, produce and second hand things. I ended up buying some Hawaiian fabric, some tank tops, a Hawaiian dress and an Oahu magnet.

We had some time to kill between the swap meet and going to Pearl Harbor so we stopped at Koa Pancake House. I got spam and eggs along with Macademia Nut pancakes. They were ok, but nothing special.

The first thing we did at Pearl Harbor was walk around the visitor’s center. The view of the harbor is beautiful but also very sad.

We went inside the USS bowfin and realized how much it would suck to be stuck in a submarine:

And of course, we went and visited the memorial for the USS Arizona, which re-opened to the public after more maintenance Sept 1. We had to watch a 10-15 movie on the history of Pearl Harbor, then we boarded a ferry that shuttled us to the memorial.

After that we decided to stop by Uncle Clay’s House of Aloha at the Ala Moana Mall for some shave ice we were craving.

The mall had 4 stories and was an outdoors mall, so we decided to walk around and explore. Other than being a pretty mall, none of the stores really stood out, they were all your basic stores you can find at any other mall.

We ended up buying smoothies at the food court and then headed back to our AirBnB.
